Arsene Wenger has hailed Arsenal wonderkid Ethan Nwaneri as a “special talent” amid comparisons to Cesc Fabregas. Nwaneri is enjoying a breakthrough season in the Arsenal first-team and marked his latest appearance with an assist in the 2-0 win over Leicester City at the weekend.

Ethan Nwaneri is quickly becoming a hero to Arsenal fans, but it could all have been very different as Manchester City tried to sign him in 2023. The 17-year-old has been thoroughly impressive this season as he has been given more regular opportunities to shine during Arsenal’s injury struggles.

Arsenal have got another free midweek with no football. That hasn't happened much this season, but with Mikel Arteta's side finishing third in the new Champions League format, they avoided the two-legged play-off tie and haven't needed to be involved in that round - with the second leg taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday.
