Boise police reported an “officer-involved shooting” after a passenger pulled a knife and fled a traffic stop. Boise police officers Wednesday were involved in a shooting after a suspect fled from a traffic stop.

Authorities said a man who ran from a traffic stop in Boise was shot after charging at a police officer with a knife on Wednesday.

A traffic stop resulted in a BPD officer-involved shooting in Boise near Division Avenue and Howe Street on Wednesday afternoon.

An officer-involved shooting incident is under investigation after a traffic stop escalated when the suspect pulled a knife. According to Boise Police, an officer made a traffic stop just after 3 p.m.

The Boise Police Department (BPD) said the incident happened on the afternoon of Nov. 10 around 2:35 p.m., at the 1300 block of N. Liberty Street near St. Alphonsus Hospital. BPD said the man had a knife and was threatening another man and holding them hostage.
