Mattel has partnered with TOKYOPOP to create a new publishing initiative. Some of the toy makers' hottest properties will be getting a manga-styled graphic novel series for Mattel’s Hot Wheels and Barbie.

Tokyopop and Mattel partner to release Barbie and Hot Wheels manga-style graphic novels by 2026. New stories and artwork will target children ages 8-12, expanding the iconic brands. Barbie's comic history includes Marvel's 63-issue series and Tokyopop's previous Cine-Manga.
