More than 400 homes in Detroit are still suffering the impacts of a water main break that occurred nearly five days ago​, and there is no end in sight.

In the days after a water main break in southwest Detroit flooded homes and forced residents out on rafts, Jackie Muscat thought something was a little fishy with what she was being asked to sign: a liability waiver that had to be completed if she wanted city-sent contractors to fix her home.

A 19-foot segment of replacement pipe arrived Thursday at the scene of a massive water main break that flooded a southwest Detroit neighborhood, commencing a repair process that officials said will take at least two weeks.
