A system bringing the chance of rain and thunderstorms across Southern California has cooled down the region. Snow is expected in parts of the Sierras.

Our Futurecast map shows this well with clouds over most of central and eastern Massachusetts Friday and Saturday with the rain confined to the extreme southeastern areas. Even over the Cape, we don't expect more than a quarter to a half-inch of total water through Saturday.

After a little bit of rain on Thursday, forecasters anticipate clouds and moisture to stick around for a little while longer.

The dry weather continues for yet another day across the region, but some rain showers are back in the forecast for Friday, the end of the week.
