The Mets and Braves are among teams fighting for a wild-card spot as the MLB regular season nears an end. Here's a look at the latest playoff picture.

The Mets temporarily erased any angst that comes with the playoff chase on Wednesday with a 10-0 rout of the Nationals at Citi Field.

The New York Mets have lifted themselves into a tie for the final NL wild-card spot with their strong start to September, winning nine of their past 13 games. In contrast, the Atlanta Braves' rather middling start to the month — winning just seven 13 — has left them tied with the Mets.
