In North Texas, we should see things dry out fairly quickly. In the afternoon, showers will exit to the east and we might see some sun break through and temperatures climb into the 60s. Some showers could redevelop early in the evening.

A storm system will move into North Texas and start your Christmas Eve on a wet note. Tuesday's storms will ramp up quickly in the morning with expanding rain and some storms. That means some heavier rain will be possible in the strongest storms.

The First Alert Weather Team has declared Saturday a First Alert Weather Day due to expected rain and storms, some of which could be strong to severe. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in place for most of North Texas,

Parts of southwest Texas saw a handful of tornadoes Thursday that caused some property damage, but no reported serious injuries. More severe storms are in the forecast for the area this weekend. CBS News national reporter Kati Weis has a report from Texas and CBS News Philadelphia meteorologist Grant Gilmore has a look at the weather on the horizon.
