Pass game coordinator Josh Grizzard interviewed for the offensive coordinator vacancy that was created when Liam Coen left to become the head coach in Jacksonville. Grizzard is the first internal candidate to interview for the position.

TAMPA — Wanting continuity on offense, the Bucs on Wednesday interviewed one of their own: pass game coordinator Josh Grizzard. Grizzard received the first in-person interview as the team seeks to replace offensive coordinator Liam Coen, who was introduced Monday as head coach of the Jaguars.

Two coaches are in the running to become the Buccaneers’ next offensive coordinator, each interviewing for the job on Tuesday. Tampa Bay announced it has completed interviews with Rams tight ends coach/pass game coordinator Nick Caley and quarterbacks coach Dave Ragone for its offensive coordinator position.

While that is annoying for the team, and Baker Mayfield especially, it allows this offense to continue to develop in terms of efficiency.

The former Louisville quarterback is the 3rd candidate from Sean McVay’s staff to meet virtually with Tampa Bay.
