The Sharks Tooth Festival began in 1992, and is hosted in Venice, FL—aka “The Sharks Tooth Capital of the World”. The family-fun celebration featured live music, food and fun activities for the kids.

At the forefront of hit movies like “Jaws,” “47 Meters Down” and “Sharknado,” sharks are often represented as fearsome, dangerous creatures — despite posing a statistically low risk to humans.

We are researchers in AI literacy and STEM education who helped create a series of lessons that use fossil shark teeth to demonstrate the power and pitfalls of AI.
