The Dutch government on Wednesday said it would expand its export controls on advanced semiconductor equipment from April 1, which chip equipment company ASML said it did not expect to impact its business.

The Netherlands expands its export controls on measuring and inspection equipment to ensure that ASML applies for licenses locally, not in the U.S.

The Netherlands tightened export control rules to make ASML Holding NV apply for licenses with the Dutch government instead of Washington for some of its tools.
