NEWARK, N.J. — Stefan Noesen scored a power-play goal in overtime as the New Jersey Devils defeated the Lightning 3-2 on Saturday night. Noesen got his 17th goal 3:19 into the extra session with Nick Paul in the penalty box for tripping. The Devils had the only five shots on goal in overtime.

With 1:01 remaining on a power play in overtime and after taking a timeout, the Devils went with a four-forward look of Jack Hughes, Nico Hischier, Jesper Bratt and Stefan Noesen. And it paid off with Noesen scoring the winner. Ondrej Palat and Jack Hughes scored in regulation for the Devils.
The Devils have struggled since returning from the holiday break but the team is focused on learning and improving instead of placing blame on individuals. Staying united as a team is critical during this stretch. Although they aren't winning, this is an opportunity to come back stronger.
