Honeywell International said on Tuesday it would buy pump-maker Sundyne from private-equity firm Warburg Pincus for $2.16 billion in cash, as the U.S. conglomerate strengthens its energy business ahead of a planned three-way split.

HONEYWELL is buying pumps and compressors manufacturer Sundyne for US$2.16bn, in a move to bolster an automation business that will soon stand alone after a major split was announced last month.

Colorado-based Sundyne is a designer and manufacturer of pumps and gas compressors led by brands of Ansimag, HMD Kontro and Marelli.
