The 119th Congress is in session. Vice President Kamala Harris swore in 12 senators Friday afternoon. Among them, are Pennsylvania Republican Dave McCormick and New Jersey Democrat Andy Kim. Members of the 119th Congress were sworn in by Republican Speaker Mike Johnson after a long and rocky speakership election.

After the pomp, circumstance and photos are all done, the incoming members of the House of Representatives have a single task to complete before anything can be done. They have to elect a Speaker of the House.
