Rickie Fowler finds himself in contention heading into the final day of play at the Cognizant Classic, but his impressive third round on Sunday was not without controversy

Rickie Fowler is typically a mild-mannered golfer, but that wasn't the case for a brief moment Saturday. During the Cognizant Classic's third round Saturday, Fowler was on the 16th hole when he missed a pretty healthy putt for birdie.

He was tied with Taylor Montgomery, Jesper Svensson and Doug Ghim at 14-under at the time of his birdie. Fowler, a 6-time PGA Tour winner, shot a 68 in his third round and will enter Sunday at 13-under for the tournament.

Rickie Fowler is cool. There’s been no denying that for his 16 years as a pro. Kids (and adults) dress like him, few of his peers have appeared in more commercials, and he’ll sign autographs until seemingly every seeker is happy.
