Authorities are working to recover the wreckage of a plane crash in western Alaska that killed 10 people while investigators are trying to determine what caused the small commuter aircraft to go down in the icy Bering Sea.

Authorities believe they have found the wreckage of an aircraft carrying 10 people which went missing Thursday in Alaska, officials said Friday. All 10 were believed to have died in the crash. An aircraft matching the description of the missing plane was found approximately 34 miles southeast of Nome,

The wreckage of a plane matching the description of one that went missing Thursday afternoon was found on sea ice in Alaska on Friday, the U.S. Coast Guard said. None of the nine passengers or the pilot flying the single-engine turboprop plane.
