Bengaluru: Karnataka Milk Federation has installed geo-positioning system on its vehicles that supply ghee to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), which manages the Tirupati temple, following a row over substandard ‘ghee’ used in Tirupati laddus, a top official said on Saturday.

Pawan Kalyan voiced concerns over alleged adulteration of the sacred Tirupati laddus, claiming the ghee contained animal fats, including fish oil, pork fat, and beef fat.

“There will be no more compromise on the quality of the laddus and the quality of ghee used (to make it),” TTD Executive Officer J Syamala Rao said. However, the TTD announced on Saturday that it will temporarily suspend the use of cow ghee and milk-based products in the preparation of other offerings, or “prasadams,” for the deity.

Andhra Pradesh deputy CM Pawan Kalyan addressed the issue of adulterated ingredients in Tirupati Laddu Prasadams, stressing the importance of maintaining sanctity in places of worship. He said, “I think it is very essential for the integrity of our nation which is being neglected.

N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday accused the previous YSRCP government of "adulterating" the sacred Tirumala Laddu. Naidu claimed that animal fat was used in place of pure ghee, sparking concerns.
