The former Kansas City Royals draft pick recently played for the Seattle Mariners' American League West rivals, the Los Angeles Angels.

The Rangers announced that they have signed right-hander Jesse Chavez and outfielder Cody Thomas to minor league deals. They also announces previously-reported pacts for righty David Buchanan and catcher Chad Wallach. Chavez is represented by Apex Baseball and Thomas by Octagon. Both of them will be in big league camp as non-roster invitees.

The Giants reportedly are bringing a former MLB All-Star on board. San Francisco is signing veteran corner infielder Jake Lamb to a minor-league contract with an invite to spring training, the New York Post’s Jon Heyman reported Monday.

Lamb spent the 2024 season in Triple-A as a member of the Pittsburgh organization. He tallied 414 plate appearances and had a roughly average .264/.350/.393 line with seven home runs. It was a step down from his minor league production from the preceding season.

Jake Lamb, who played for 7 teams in 4 seasons before spending all of 2024 in Triple-A, is looking to revive his career at Spring Training with the Giants.
