Beyond franchises, perhaps the most exciting thing yet to be revealed is the Switch 2’s equivalent of Wii Sports, Nintendo Land, and 1-2-Switch — a game or games that will show what the new system is capable of and what differentiates it from the original Switch.
Before yesterday's Nintendo Direct, Nintendo was adamant that no news about the Switch 2 would be revealed during the presentation, but the aftermath of one of its more surprising announcements may have given away a crucial bit of information about the next console and the games we can expect to play on it.

Nintendo has revealed something new about Switch 2 games on a day it wasn’t planning to talk about the new system. After today’s Nintendo Direct stream, the company revealed the existence of “Switch 2 Edition” games on its webpage about the new Virtual Game Card lending system, VGC reports.
With the Switch 2 being a Nintendo console, we expect plenty of the usual suspects to hit the platform. A new Mario, Zelda, Mario Kart and the rest of the staples will surely come to the console at some point (not all will be launch games, but over the console's lifetime, we'll see them at least once).
