The Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) is leading an investigation into a deadly officer-involved shooting that occurred in the town of Fond du Lac on Monday evening.

Fond du Lac County sheriff’s deputies were called to the 6300 block of Cherrywood Drive Monday night after receiving information about someone who had a felony warrant. Information from the reporting citizen also said the same person appeared to have a handgun in their waistband.

One person is dead after being shot by a Fond du Lac County deputy. It happened at 6:22 p.m. Monday in the 6300 block of Cherrywood Drive in the Town of Fond du Lac. According to deputies, they spoke with the subject on the phone because they were known to have a felony warrant.
