At CES 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada, Alienware has announced a new series of Area 51 desktops and laptops, designed to bring Alienware back to the forefront of gaming PCs.

It's not a giant alien head, but the 80L desktop is roomy and ready for top performance -- now and down the road -- while the laptop designs are inspired by the Northern Lights.

On the mobile gaming front, the Alienware Area 51 gaming laptops will come in two sizes, 16-inch and 18-inch, and will be configurable with up to an Intel Core Ultra 285HX processor and Nvidia RTX 5090 GPU, with a total power profile of 280W.

Alienware is resurrecting the iconic Area-51 gaming PC, the brand announced at this year’s CES tech conference in Las Vegas. Alienware’s 2025 plans also include a refreshed Aurora PC line-up and new 16in and 18in Area-51 gaming laptops.

The Alienware Area-51 desktop PC, a line of high-end gaming rigs dating back to 1998, has returned after several years out of the game. The company announced the new model at CES 2025, describing the resurrected Area-51 as “retaking the throne” as Alienware’s latest flagship gaming PC.

Today at CES 2025, Dell announced that they’re bringing back the iconic Alienware Area-51 gaming laptops, which were known for their desktop-level CPUs and easy access for upgrades. This time, they come armed with the latest hardware as well as a new thermal architecture for better internal cooling.
