Mapped: Typhoon Usagi weakens over Philippines but Taiwan braces for severe weather - Heavy rains accompanying storm may cause flash flooding in low-lying and inland areas

The storm made landfall on the island of Luzon. Forecasters warned of torrential rain and landslides in the north of the country.

With gusts reaching 149 mph, Typhoon Usagi struck the coastal town of Baggao in the Cagayan province of the Philippines.
