LAS VEGAS, NV - It was fitting that in Jacob Markstrom's return to the New Jersey Devils lineup, we would have a goaltending duel on our hands. In Vegas, Markstrom went save-for-save against Golden Knight's Adin Hill through the opening 40 minutes. Both goaltenders were a perfect 16-for-16 until the game's first power play changed the momentum.

Per Devils head coach Sheldon Keefe, goaltender Jacob Markstrom will return to action Sunday evening against the Vegas Golden Knights. Markstrom was injured on Jan. 22 against the Boston Bruins and has been sidelined with a sprained MCL in his knee.

Goaltender Jacob Markstrom has been activated from injured reserve after missing more than a month with an MCL sprain and will return to action as the Devils take on the Vegas Golden Knights, head coach Sheldon Keefe announced Sunday. "He'll play tonight, he's ready to go," Keefe told reporters.

Mark Stone and Noah Hanifin each scored a power-play goal in the third period, and the Golden Knights beat the Devils​ 2-0 on Sunday night.
