Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi could reportedly be in line with a surprise return to his former club Chelsea, as the club look for a replacement for Wesley Fofana who had another injury setback

Club sources have updated TEAMtalk on Crystal Palace's position when it comes to the future of club captain Marc Guehi, who continues to be heavily linked with a return to his old club Chelsea.

Chelsea are prepared to oversee a fire-sale this month in order to fund a move to re-sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace. The 24-year-old left Stamford Bridge to move across London in 2021, and has since established himself as a critical player at both club and international level.

Chelsea’s first offer to Crystal Palace for Marc Guehi has been described as “silly” as they attempt to bolster Enzo Maresca’s backline. Guehi emerged as a January transfer target for the Blues after long-term injuries to Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile, with Maresca admitting that they may need to dip into the market this month.
