Lancaster city councilmembers voted Tuesday night to take over and redevelop the site of a once-thriving downtown hub. The former Springs Mill site spans 35 acres between Old Landsford Road and Brooklyn Avenue.

Colorado Springs municipal election is three weeks away; 330,000 ballots were sent out to voters last Friday. Over the next month, Colorado Springs voters will select a majority of decision-makers on the City Council who will shape the city's future.
