Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin converted on two power plays as the Detroit Red Wings beat the Buffalo Sabres, 2-1, to end a 3-game skid.

The Red Wings (5-5-1) ended a three-game slide (0-2-1). Larkin tied it at 7:49 of the second after Patrick Kane stole the puck from Mattias Samuelsson and fed Larkin at the side of the net. Larkin put his team ahead at 14:38 by taking a pass from Alex DeBrincat and scoring from the net front, his seventh goal.

Larkin put the Red Wings back ahead 2-1 at 12:27, moving into the offensive zone, skating around Chicago defenseman Isaak Phillips and scoring on a backhand-to-forehand move. It was Larkin’s fourth goal during a three-game scoring streak.

The Detroit Red Wings picked up a huge win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday night. Detroit picked up its second straight win following a win over the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday. It was an encouraging sign for a Red Wings team that has struggled at times.
