Drake’s ongoing legal battle with his label, Universal Music Group, has escalated. The artist filed a lawsuit in federal court today, accusing UMG of harming his reputation and endangering him for profit.

In a federal lawsuit on Wednesday, Drake accused Universal Music Group of putting his life and reputation at risk by releasing and promoting the popular diss track.

Amid his ongoing feud with Kendrick Lamar, Drake has launched a new defamation lawsuit against his label, Universal Music Group, for defamation and harassment.

Although Drake withdrew his legal petition against his label, Universal Music Group, on Tuesday, he doubled down Wednesday, suing the company for defamation and harassment, spreading the “false and malicious narrative” that he is a pedophile via Kendrick Lamar's brutal diss track,

Drake had filed actions against Universal Music Group and Spotify, in which he claimed the two companies had colluded to artificially boost the streaming numbers of Lamar’s song “Not Like Us.” The song was one of several tracks released in a feud between Drake and Lamar.

Late Tuesday, the rapper quietly withdrew his legal action accusing Universal Music Group of colluding with Spotify to artificially inflate Kendrick Lamar’s diss track.

The lawsuit states that on May 4, 2024, the day “Not Like Us” came out, “UMG approved, published, and launched a campaign to create a viral hit out of a rap track that falsely accuses Drake of being a pedophile and calls for violent retribution against him.”

Drake's latest suit comes two months after he claimed UMG and Spotify inflated the streams of "Not Like Us," which is nominated for key Grammys.
