Yes u can launch your own boat..has a straight shot dock of about 200' ramp seemed solid,didn't notice much algae, but that seems to be the issues with most lakes right now.i did see dogs running around,not sure if they are allowed as I witnessed millenials drinking glass Corona bottles on the dock when I returned to retrieve the truck and trailer.parking lot is close by which is good,not a long uphill walk
