It's definitely family friendly (on our tour all 3 groups had kids, ages spanning roughly 3 to 12) and the boat is very steady so I wouldnt have safety concerns. I would say it's really a question of whether this particular 5 month old can stay calm for that much time on a boat -- I don't recall exactly how long it was but it's something like 90 minutes or two hours. They were very responsive on the phone and I'm sure would share info about the length of the tour if you call.
