Interesting, and a good walk. But to be honest, if you've been to Yellowstone or other thermal sites, this one pales in comparison. Lots of mud pots, a couple of pools, not really any geysers.Full review by Robert A

I visited in August and did not need to pre-book tickets, we were able to purchase upon arrival and go straight into the grounds. We missed the Geyser, as it only goes off once a day and we arrived right after, but I do not believe there is a ticket required for that, you can drive to that area and see the Geyser before proceeding to the main office to purchase tickets.
I have a dog where will it be safe to leave him if I cannot take him on a lead? I don't want to leave him in a hot car

I personally would not take a dog. I am unsure if you are allowed to take a dog in, perhaps call the information desk and ask. Please see other answers.
