We had a great time at Pendennis Castle, with the highlight being the brilliant tour of the WW2 parts of Pendennis by Tim. We were just wondering around the ramparts when he spotted us and encouraged…Full review by Phoebe C

I’ve seen that dogs are allowed at Pendennis Castle however I was wondering if they’re allowed during the jousting event? I want to take my kids to the jousting and my wife will more than likely walk our dog around the grounds. He’s a well behaved dog and doesn’t bark but I wondered if they were allowed with the horses being there as part of an act. TIA
A:
Did you ever get an answer to this or go with your pup? I’d like to go but it would just be me, my son and dog and wondering whether I could manage this while watching the jousting
Q:
Is there a play park there
A:
No, but there is plenty of grassy areas for children to run about in
Q:
Can we bring or dog to pendenis castle ?
A:

I don't walk very well (use a cane) and can't handle long distances (like 3-4 city blocks) without a break. Would I be able to handle a tour here, or would I be frustrated by it?

Hello George, I think you could handle the walk around the grounds, watch the cannon being fired, go inside the museum and café, see the displays set up around the Fortress. It's more a fortress than a castle. Nothing pretty inside and lots and lots of narrow stone stairways. My husband went up to the top but I gave up halfway up. After two weeks of seeing castles, everything started to look the same. If you want to see a pretty castle, go to Maidenhead to Leeds Castle. You can even spend the night there. I have a review about it. The grounds and gardens are beautiful and the great thing about it is, if you can't walk far, there is a little train that will take you to the castle and back. You can also see most of the inside of the castle. I don't remember there being too many stairs. There's also a pretty moat around the castle. Would be beautiful in the Spring. We visited in October. It was still very pretty.

We were planning on visiting the castle tomorrow for the jousting/medieval displays, but the forecast is for heavy rain and we have young children in our group. Can anybody advise whether all of these activities take place outdoors please, or if any of them are under cover/sheltered?Many thanks.
A:
