If you join a guided tour you will can down the shaft to the “Man Engine Tunnel” where 31 miners lost their lives. It’s also the only place where there’s a beam engine in steam. Well worth a visit.

There is a Museum in Redruth that keeps an archives of all miners. also: do a search for cornwall online ( I typed in Cornish miners index ).
