Is there a difference between asphalt & blacktop? Many people use these terms interchangeably but there are subtle differences that make these materials unique.
They may seem like they are exactly the same, but an asphalt road and blacktop road are slightly different. Asphalt is smoother and therefore less noisy, while blacktop is just as durable and works well for play areas, paths and other smaller areas where a flat, plant-free place is preferred.
